A wood burning fire pit will burn hotter providing a better heat source than the gas option. It also provides more of an outdoor campfire feel that many people enjoy. Another consideration is the smoke that you can get from a wood burning fire pit. If you don’t like the smell of smoke sticking to you, then a gas option may be your best bet.
